Galeton is a borough located in Potter County, Pennsylvania. As of the last census Galeton had a population of 1,325. Galeton was originally named Pike Mills, renamed in honor of William Gale the founders of the Galeton Tannery. Around 1910 the population of Galeton exploded to around 5,000 people living there as a result of the tannery, sawmills, and railroads.

Shinglehouse is a borough located in Potter County, Pennsylvania. As of the last census, the borough had a total population of 1,250. When the village of Shinglehouse became a borough in March, 1901, it had a population of nearly a thousand. It had about twenty businesses and was served by the New York and Pennsylvania Railroad.
